High‐Quality Single‐Mode Lasers Based on Zero‐Dimensional Cesium Lead Halide Perovskites

Abstract: Zero‐Dimensional Perovskites In article number http://doi.wiley.com/10.1002/solr.201900127, Xiaosheng Tang, Juan Du, Yuxin Leng, and co‐workers study the photophysical properties of zero‐dimensional Cs4PbBr6 by using femtosecond transient absorption measurements; the existence of polarons provides evidence of the inherent green emission from Cs4PbBr6. Furthermore, the excellent stable lasing performance at room temperature from Cs4PbBr6 perovskite microdisks is successfully achieved.

“…[ 47–53 ] On the other hand, the self‐trapped exciton indicated a bound electron–hole pair trapped via strong electron/hole–lattice coupling, possibly leading to the formation of a polaron in the lattice distortion filed. [ 34,49,54 ] The self‐trapped exciton has been confirmed in a variety of characterization technologies. For example, the excited‐state dynamics were investigated by femtosecond transient absorption measurements.…”

“…For example, the excited‐state dynamics were investigated by femtosecond transient absorption measurements. [ 54 ] The stable energy of photoinduced bleach was 2.44 eV of Cs 4 PbBr 6 . A broad positive band below the bandgap was observed due to polaron absorption, illustrating the polaronic states of Cs 4 PbBr 6 .…”

“…31,33 Thus, 0-D Cs 4 PbBr 6 is expected to perform better than CsPbBr 3 as bright light emitters in closely assembled solid platforms or bulk crystals. So far, 0-D Cs 4 PbBr 6 has found intriguing applications in LEDs, 34 lasing, 28,35 and solar energy concentrators. 36 On the route to further accelerate research progress with rationally designed Cs 4 PbBr 6 , two challenging issues have been recognized.…”
