High‐quality freestanding flexible poly(5‐(2,3‐dihydrothieno[3,4‐b][1,4]dioxin‐5‐yl)‐1H‐indole) film: Electrosyntheses, characterization, and optical properties

Abstract: A novel co-monomer 5- (2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b] [1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-1H-indole (EDTI), based on the combinations of indole and 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) groups, was synthesized and electrodeposited into flawless free-standing flexible poly (5-(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-1H-indole) (PEDTI) film by Rui Wang, Guo Ye, Weiqiang Zhou and their colleagues. The colors of as-prepared PEDTI film could switch reversibly from purple to brown during the n-and p-doping. Fluorescence spectral studies reve… Show more

“…The fluorescence spectra in Figure show that the emission peaks of the polymers are located at about 500–520 nm. It is reported in literature that the photoluminescence of various derivatives of PIn is observed in the region of 430–470 nm. ,, A redshift by 16 nm and a significant increase in the photoluminescence intensity relative to PClPA are observed for a 2E3MPIn sample (Table ). Presumably, this phenomenon is because of the formation of an indole structure.…”

“…A polyol obtained by glycolysis of waste rigid PU foams was used to produce a new rigid foam. This new foam showed higher compressive strength, thermal insulation, and self-extinguishing property compared with conventional foam [17]. Liquefied rice husk with different NCO/OH ratios was used to produce PU foams [18].…”

“…The nitrogen‐containing heteroaromatic polymer has several intriguing properties, but the main barrier is its poor mechanical stability, brittleness and low processability. Polyindole (PIN) films are often particularly rigid, brittle, insoluble, and infusible among nitrogen‐containing conductive polymers 4,5 . Thus, the processability of PIN is an important factor to be addressed for better applicability in various fields.…”

“…and infusible among nitrogen-containing conductive polymers. 4,5 Thus, the processability of PIN is an important factor to be addressed for better applicability in various fields. In the literature, PIN has been modified in a variety of ways, including the addition of substitute groups in the main chain, the synthesis of soluble precursors, the preparation of composites through chemical oxidation methods and the blending of PIN with one or more flexible and stable polymers.…”
