“…Choi et al reported that the overall incidence of vitamin D deficiency and severe vitamin D deficiency in pregnant women was 77.3% and 28.6% respectively, with a higher prevalence observed in the first trimester among Korean women [ 11 ]. Similarly, Zhao et al conducted a study involving 27,166 healthy pregnant women in China and found a pooled prevalence of vitamin D deficiency of 34.3%, with incidence rates of 37.83%, 33.8%, and 29.3% for the first, second, and third trimesters respectively [ 12 ].
