Abstract:A stainless steel autoclave was used to investigate high-pressure catalytic H 2 S conversion to sulfur in a liquidsulfur medium. Using the fundamental chemistry developed in earlier low-pressure conversion studies, the objective of this work was to investigate the use of high pressures for increasing overall H 2 S conversion to elemental sulfur. Using 1.55% H 2 S (balance N 2 ), the H 2 S scavenging activity of fresh FeO(OH) was found to increase with increasing operating pressures. Reaction of 1.55% H 2 S wit… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
