The working capability and cost of four-switch three-phase (FSTP) shunt active power filter (APF) are determined by the parameter selection. Based on mathematical model of FSTP inverter, the effect of key parameters, such as dc-bus voltage level and capacitor voltage transform is analyzed. On account of ac output filter inductance, voltage and capacitance on dc side, output filter in the design of four-switch three-phase APF, this paper expounds the optimal selection approach of parameters, sets up simulation model in PSIM, correctness of the method is verified by simulation on the basis of analysis about law of effect.

Abstract-This paper presents the application of fuzzy controllers to act in the current control loop of a shunt active power filter (SAPF). The SAPF consists of a three-phase inverter with four-leg topology, and it has been used to reduce the harmonic content produced by nonlinear loads, as well as, in the reactive power compensation. The generation of the reference currents is based on the synchronous reference frame (SRF), which requires the use of a PLL (Phase Locked Loop) synchronization algorithm with the grid. The classic PI control is here replaced by a fuzzy controller that has features that allows fast convergence and robustness when there are parametric variations in the physical system. Results obtained from simulations are presented to validate the approach and to demonstrate the performance of the filter in the suppression of harmonic currents and reactive power.

In this paper, a comparative study on control strategies of parallel hybrid active power filters (PHAPF) is presented. A universal electric model of three different PHAPF is proposed. The principle for the harmonic current elimination of PHAPF when different control strategies are adopted is analyzed. As the performance of the PHAPF will be influenced by the fluctuation of the power system parameters, a comparative study of the influences when different control strategies are adopted is carried out. The conclusions can help in the choice of an optimal basic control strategy, and guarantee the secure operation of the PHAPF system. Experiments have been carried out to verify the validity of the theoretical analysis in this paper.
