High power balanced TEM horn antenna for ultra wide band radiator

Abstract: A balanced transverse electromagnetic (TEM) horn type antenna is designed and developed for a 120 kV, 66 Ω high power ultra wideband (UWB) radiator. This antenna consists of a coaxial to parallel plate unzipper BALUN followed by an exponentially tapered TEM horn structure. Analysis of this antenna in time and frequency domain is performed using CST Microwave Studio. This antenna is having a power handling capacity of 1000 MW, with percentage bandwidth of 167%.
