“…Thus, we again obtain a decrease in the band-gap energy E g as observed in [10,50,[73][74][75]. Let us emphasize that similar behavior is also reported in TM-doped CeO 2 [13,72,[76][77][78] and SnO 2 NPs [12,65,79]. In order to clarify the discrepancies by Mn ion doping, let us emphasize that, with our model, we obtain a reduced band gap in a Mn 2+ (r = 0.8 Ȧ)-doped SnO 2 NP using J(Mn-Mn) = 20.24 meV [12] (see Figure 3, curve 3).…”

“…The decomposition of RhB (Scheme ) is routinely used to demonstrate piezocatalysis , as a surrogate for the general class of aromatic dyes found in wastewater. It is also a convenient substrate since it has a very large molar absorption coefficient so that sensitive detection of changes in RhB concentration can easily be detected using visible absorption spectroscopy.…”

“…Perhaps, the best studied piezoelectric polymer is poly(vinylidene difluoride) ([CH 2 CF 2 ] n , PVDF) and related co-polymers. In this paper, we show that PVDF can be an effective piezocatalyst, as demonstrated for the decomposition of a common organic dye pollutant, rhodamine B (RhB). ,, …”

“…The addition of (Dy 3+ , Sm 3+ , Yb 2+ , Eu 3+ and Gd 2+ ) dopants didn't seem to have effect on the XRD pattern (except that of Yb 2+ which caused more peak formation, JCPDS 00-43-1037) ) which suggests that these dopants were incorporated in the lattice. The XRD pattern showed that Zn 2 SnO 4 was still main phase, but few diffraction lines of ZnO (JCPDS, 79-0208) [21] and SnO 2 (JCPDS, 79-0208) [22] were observed. Lattice parameters as a function of composition is an important piece of information for nano or microstructure evolution.…”
