High Performance Fiber Laser Resonator for Dual Band (C and L) Sensing

Abstract: This work presents an experimental analysis and comparison of the performance of quasi-randomly distributed reflectors inscribed into a single-mode fiber as a sensing mirror both in C-and L-band. Single-wavelength emission has been obtained in either band when using these artificially controlled backscattering fiber reflectors in a ring-cavity fiber laser. Singlelongitudinal mode operation with an optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR) of 47 dB and an output power instability as low as 0.04 dB have been measured… Show more

“…SLM operation persisted in both cases, discarding any notions that this behavior was due to mode competition and mode hopping annihilation by means of inter-channel seed light interaction [22]. Instead, the SLM lasing seemed to be exclusively due to the random nature of the reflector, as suggested by previous studies [23].…”

“…Fuente: (Sánchez et al, 2010) Cada factor que influya sobre el arreglo espacial afecta su porosidad y en consecuencia su Densidad aparente, por ende los suelos con mayor proporción de poros presentan menor DA que aquéllos que están más compactados. De allí que la DA de un suelo da una idea de su grado de compactación.…”
