High-order Laguerre-Gauss polychromatic beams from Bragg-Berry flat optics

Abstract: We report on the design, fabrication and experimental characterization of reflective geometric phase optical elements enabling the generation of scalar and vectorial high-order Laguerre-Gauss optical beams over a broad spectral range. This is made possible by combining azimuthal and radial structuring of helix-based liquid crystal films exhibiting the circular Bragg reflection phenomenon. By extending the previously introduced concept of Bragg-Berry optical elements to the polychromatic shaping of the radial d… Show more

“…Regarding the analysis of Laguerre–Gaussian beams in both monochromatic [ 28 ] and polychromatic cases [ 29 , 30 ], as well as beams passing through turbulent atmosphere [ 31 , 32 ], it is believed that the SOD method has the potential to be applied in these areas. SOD techniques can play a crucial role in identifying and analyzing important regions or features in complex optical wavefronts, including Laguerre–Gaussian beams.…”
