“…In this interesting series from Portland (Maine, USA) , the authors reviewed a consecutive series of 162 patients all of whom had cementless THA from a single manufacturer using a titanium stem, CoCr head, and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) liner. 3 Although 53 patients were lost to follow-up, died, or underwent an unrelated early revision, the remaining two-thirds of patients all had metal ion levels drawn at their ten-year follow-up appointment.
