Abstract:This paper presents an evaluation of the impacts of simulation models for high impedance faults detection in microgrids with distributed generators interfaced by voltage source converters. Detailed simulation models are used to consider the high frequency switching of power electronics and, consequently, the associated harmonic distortions. Thus, for systems with a higher degradation of the current sine waveform, the high impedance fault characteristics such as nonlinearity, asymmetry, and randomness may remai… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
