“…While most patients with VaIN II and III can be cured after treatment, a small number may experience relapse or progression to invasive cancer, necessitating long-term follow-up. A study by Monti et al found that the recurrence rate of vaginal HSIL after treatment was 17%, with a 5-year cumulative recurrence rate of 30.4% and a median recurrence time of 15.5 months [ 66 ]. VaIN after hysterectomy still has a high risk of recurrence and progression after initial treatment.…”
