RESUMENHerpes gestationis es una rara enfermedad autoinmune que se presenta en mujeres embarazadas, compromete principalmente la piel y puede manifestarse como lesiones bulosas intensamente pruriginosas que, en ocasiones, son de difícil diagnóstico.Nosotros reportamos dos casos clínicos simultáneos que se presentaron en nuestro Servicio en marzo del año 2002, hecho que no deja de sorprender dado lo infrecuente y poco común de esta patología. PALABRAS CLAVES: Herpes gestationis, penfigoide gestacional, dermatosis del embarazo SUMMARYHerpes gestationis is an uncommon autoimmune disease seen in pregnant women. The condition involves mainly the skin, and results in bulous lesions with intense pruritus, which can sometimes be very difficult to deal with.We report 2 clinical cases which presented simultaneously at our Service, a surprising fact indeed, if we take into consideration the uncommon and peculiar character of this disease. INTRODUCCIONDurante el embarazo, ocurren numerosos cambios inmunológicos, metabólicos, endocrinos y vasculares los que harán susceptible a la mujer embarazada a cambios en la piel y sus anexos, sean estos fisiológicos o patológicos (1). Por esto, es importante reconocerlos, para clasificarlos correctamente y tratarlos cuando sea necesario.Clasificaremos las dermatosis del embarazo en las siguientes tres categorías (2):I. Cambios fisiológicos de la piel en el embarazo: cambios pigmentarios (melasma), alteraciones en el pelo, uñas y tejido conectivo (estrías).II. Dermatosis y tumores cutáneos afectados por el embarazo: a) Inflamatorios: dermatitis atópica, psoriasis, acné vulgaris, etc.
