High energy γ rays fromN14+nat

Abstract: The absolute cross section and angular distributions for p-ray production in the reaction N + " 'Ag at 35 MeV/nucleon have been measured. Calculations of the expected p-ray yield using an enhanced version of the nucleon exchange transport model have been performed. It has been observed that use of a sharp ground state momentum distribution in the p-ray calculations does not lead to reproduction of the experimental yields. Dift'use momentum distributions have been incorporated into the model, and the calculatio… Show more

“…The KVI "Forward Wall"(FW) [23], consisted of 92 plastic scintillator phoswiches, detects and identifies LCP and IMF (up to Z≈15) emitted in the forward direction. In our experimental setup, this detector was placed downstream 74 cm away from the target covering the forward hemisphere behind the SSD, 2.5 • ≤ θ ≤ 25 • and the whole azimuthal range.…”

“…The first was to complement a series of heavy ion experiments [1,2], in order to understand the production mechanism of high energy γ rays at intermediate energies. The argument for this motivation is as follows.…”
