“…The solar to steam efficiency ( η ) was computed via eqn (2): 12,43 where ν (kg m −2 h −1 ) is the rate of vapor generation under steady-state conditions irradiation and Q in (mW cm −2 ) represents the incoming solar irradiation intensity. H e is the sum of the latent heat and sensible heat enthalpy of the whole water-vapor phase shift, which is computed as follows: H e = C p Δ T + Δhwhere, C p is the specific heat capacity of water which is equal to 4.18 J g −1 k −1 , Δ T is the change of temperature of the water, and Δh refers to the latent heat of vaporization on the relative temperature (2394 kJ kg −1 ).…”

“…Ibrahim's team designed an Ag/CuO‐reduced graphene oxide (rGO) solar evaporator for seawater desalination. [ 136 ] Desalination performance of the evaporator was evaluated with the difference of ion concentrations of artificial seawater reservoir and condensed freshwater. The result shows a significant reduction of Mg 2+ , Ca 2+ , and Na 2+ ions, which the concentrations dropped from the original values of 1500, 1000, and 1000 mg L −1 to 10, 3.4, 7.2 mg L −1 respectively.…”

“…Polyurethane was used as a carrier and thermal insulator. The Ag/CuO-RGO-PU film has an average of 2.6 kg m −2 h −1 under one solar irradiation, and the evaporation rate and solar thermal efficiency are as high as 92.5% [ 89 ]. The absence of a power source and the potential portability of the device represents an attractive solution for long-term desalination, and these studies are of great value in advancing our understanding of efficient photothermal conversion.…”
