“…An EIK is susceptible to unwanted oscillations from a greater section of modes than conventional klystron.the beam may couple with azimuthally and shortly distance between the gaps varying modes which a common tube can not as there is little electric field at the beam pipe. The Wakefield theory can be used to calculate the excitation of a cavity by a beam [4] .This allows modes such as the dipole mode in the extended interaction output cavity to be evaluated and other troublesome modes identified which can then be damped or perturbed.Monotron oscillation occurs when the beam gives to the RF structure more power than can be dissipated. There are two conditions that must be met for oscillation to take place,The beam loading conductance (G e ,which is proportional to df/f)must be negative,This calculation define the range of potential dangerous frequencies.…”

“…There are two conditions that must be met for oscillation to take place,The beam loading conductance (G e ,which is proportional to df/f)must be negative,This calculation define the range of potential dangerous frequencies. The Q 0 factor of one of these modes must be greater than a critical value which is proportional to beam parameters(V 0 ,I 0 ,G e ) and the R/Q of the mode [4] . Fig.3 and Fig.4 is electric field contour and electric field magnitude in the axial distribution, respectively.…”
