In this paper, a novel w-band extended interaction output cavity stability analysis is presented. Adopting beam quality factor and PIC code, stability analysis of the eight ladder grids cavity is discussed for the 2π operation mode. Results show that reasonable beam quality factor can reach more stable output power without oscillation of parasitic mode.
IntroductionAlong with the development of sciences and technologies, many today's and future applications, such as medicine , biology, communications, active denial, atmospheric sensing and near-object analysis, require radio frequency (RF) sources producing the microwave power of several watts to several kilowatts in the Terahertz range [1][2][3] . Extended Interaction Klystron, based on an extended interaction structure, are a way to achieve high power, wide bandwith and high gain in the millimeter/sub-millimeter wave length range, the ladder cavity structure is composed of several coupled-cavities that strongly couple to each other by the slots on the common walls between the adjoining cavities. So It is very important to keep stability of analysis (cold and hot test) for the structure, Adopting beam quality factor and PIC code, stability analysis of the eight grids cavity is discussed for the 2π operation mode. Results show that reasonable beam quality factor can reach more stable output power without oscillation.
