High-Efficiency Electron Transport Layer-Free Perovskite/GeTe Tandem Solar Cell: Numerical Simulation

Abstract: The primary purpose of recent research has been to achieve a higher power conversion efficiency (PCE) with stable characteristics, either through experimental studies or through modeling and simulation. In this study, a theoretical analysis of an efficient perovskite solar cell (PSC) with cuprous oxide (Cu2O) as the hole transport material (HTM) and zinc oxysulfide (ZnOS) as the electron transport material (ETM) was proposed to replace the traditional HTMs or ETMs. In addition, the impact of doping the perovsk… Show more

“…Using the SCAPS-1D simulation software, CsPbIBr 2 -based devices with a regular (n-i-p) structure of Glass/FTO/ZnOS/CsPbIBr 2 /CZTS/Au were simulated, as presented in figure 1. The device parameters obtained from the literature [17][18][19][20][21] are succinctly presented in table 1. A transparent interface is achieved at the lower end through the application of a fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) coated glass substrate, whereas the electron transport layers (ETLs) facilitate electron transport by impeding the passage of holes.…”

“…Various software packages can be utilized to assess the performance of single or multijunction solar cells, like SCAPS [40,41], Silvaco [6,12,42], COMSOL [43], AMPS [44], and wxAMPS [45]. This study uses the Silvaco TCAD simulator to model and simulate the proposed tandem cell's electrical and optical characteristics.…”
