Higgs physics at the CLIC electron–positron linear collider

Abstract: The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is an option for a future collider operating at centre-of-mass energies up to , providing sensitivity to a wide range of new physics phenomena and precision physics measurements at the energy frontier. This paper is the first comprehensive presentation of the Higgs physics reach of CLIC operating at three energy stages: , 1.4 and . The initial stage of operation allows the study of Higgs boson production in Higgsstrahlung () and -fusion (), resulting in precise measurements … Show more

“…The different CLIC runs would operate at √ s =380 GeV, 1.4 TeV and 3 TeV. As in the ILC case, we choose one scenario based on 0.5 ab −1 of data from the lowest energy run at 380 GeV ("CLIC-380"), 9 and one scenario adding also the 1.5 ab −1 and 2 ab −1 of data taken at 1.4 TeV and 3 TeV, respectively ("CLIC-all") [151,154]. 9 The actual numbers presented in refs.…”

“…There have been several proposals for next-generation e + e − colliders that are under active studies, including the Circular Electron-Positron Collider (CEPC) [29,30], the Future Circular Collider (FCC-ee) [31], the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) [32,33], and the International Linear Collider (ILC) [34][35][36]. These colliders are planned to operate at a center of mass (CM) energy ranging from about 250 GeV to 3 TeV, thereby making accessible most of dominant production processes of the Higgs boson.…”

“…Therefore, even if no large deviation in the Higgs coupling is observed at ILC250 or ILC500, significant enhancement of the htt production may still be viable. At CLIC the expected accuracy for cross section is about 8.4% with an integrated luminosity of 1.5 ab −1 at √ s = 1.4 TeV [33], and at ILC the accuracy could reach 28% (6.3%) at 500 (1000) GeV [35]. There is thus a good chance to test the htt production at these high energy machines.…”
