“…Repeated hypoxic exposure, comprising a slightly longer hypoxia/normoxia cycle, was shown to improve exercise performance in rodents. Normoxic exercise training in combination with short‐duration intermittent hypoxia at rest (5 cycles per day of 12% O 2 for 15 min and 20.9% O 2 for 15 min) for 2 weeks markedly improved the swimming time to exhaustion and maximal oxygen consumption in rats (Drevytska et al ).
