Hierarchical smart energy management strategy based on cooperative distributed economic model predictive control for multi‐microgrids systems

Abstract: Summary With the new edge of smart grids technology, the concept of efficient energy management among cooperative microgrids (MGs) distribution networks for the next generation of energy trading applications has become more and more challenging. This article presents smart energy dispatch for multi‐MGs (MMGs) systems based on the cooperative distributed economic model predictive control (DEMPC) within a hierarchical structure. The optimization framework consists of two levels. First, a DEMPC coordinator comput… Show more

“…The results demonstrate the suggested method's suitable performance. Brahmia et al 30 develop a smart energy dispatch for multi-MGs systems using cooperative distributed economic MPC (DEMPC). A DEMPC coordinator calculates the best energy dispatch solution by considering the energy excess with a power-sharing policy, the electricity market price based on the TOU, and the distributed generating units.…”

“…In References [15,16], a smart energy dispatching method based on distributed economic cooperative predictive control is proposed. In References [17][18][19], a pilot distributed follower decentralized control strategy for islanded microgrids is proposed, which realizes economic dispatch while ensuring voltage quality and frequency synchronization.…”

“…To equalize the difference in the grid, it is need to increase electricity consumption at night. That is why one of the most necessary elements in the Smart Grid is an energy storage device that can receive energy at night and emit it during the day, thus equalizing the load drops in the power grid [8,9].…”
