Hidradenitis suppurativa should be recognized as a weight-related comorbidity in National Institute for Health and Care guidelines on managing obesity

Abstract: We propose hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is added to the list of weight-related comorbidities in the new National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guideline on obesity. Effective obesity management in patients with HS could help reduce disease severity, pain and cardiovascular risk, and improve quality of life and the efficacy of biologic therapy.
