Hiatal hernia in a five‐month‐old Bulldog

Abstract: A five-month-old male Bulldog presented with a history of vomiting and regurgitation from the age of eight weeks. Contrast radiography and ultrasonography revealed a type I hiatal hernia. Surgical treatment included repositioning the stomach in its normal anatomical position, closure of the hiatal defect in the diaphragm, oesophagopexy and a left-sided incisional fundic gastropexy. The dog responded well to surgery with no further reports of vomiting or regurgitation.
