Heterotic Kerr-Schild Double Field Theory and its double Yang-Mills formulation

Eric Lescano,
Sourav Roychowdhury

Abstract: We present a formulation of heterotic Double Field Theory (DFT), where the fundamental fields are in O(D, D) representations. The theory is obtained splitting an O(D, D + K) duality invariant DFT. This procedure produces a Green-Schwarz mechanism for the generalized metric, and a fundamental gauge field which transforms as a gauge connection only to leading order. After parametrization, the former induces a non-covariant transformation on the metric tensor, which can be removed considering field redefinitions,… Show more

“…Building on this map of states studied for scattering amplitudes, examples of linearised double copy of black holes with gauge fields were presented in references [196,197]. In reference [212], a Kerr-Schild-type ansatz in heterotic DFT provided examples of exact double copy, an idea further developed in references [213][214][215][216]. Extensions to exceptional field theories, which arise in the low-energy limit of string/M-theory, were presented in references [217,218].…”
