Heteronuclear Efimov Scenario with Positive Intraspecies Scattering Length

Abstract: We investigate theoretically and experimentally the heteronuclear Efimov scenario for a threebody system that consists of two bosons and one distinguishable particle with positive intraspecies scattering lengths. The three-body parameter at the three-body scattering threshold and the scaling factor between consecutive Efimov resonances are found to be controlled by the scattering length between the two bosons, approximately independent of short-range physics. We observe two excitedstate Efimov resonances in th… Show more

“…Our results (assuming no interaction between bosons) can be directly probed in 6 Li-133 Cs atomic system near B 0 = 889G Feshbach resonance [70,71], where the bosonboson scattering length (a bb ) is small and the Efimov scenario is not modified by finite a bb (except for the ground state trimer [70]). Moreover, the diagrammatic approach we used in this work can be generalized to interacting boson systems, with the boson-boson interaction contributing to another scattering channel.…”

“…Near broad Feshbach resonances (s res ≫ 1), the singlechannel universal van der Waals theory [14] predicted a universal dependence of the three-body parameter on the intra-species scattering length. [17]. For homonuclear systems, the universal prediction [10] appeared to hold for 39 K even near narrow Feshbach resonance with s res ≈ 0.1 [19].…”
