Heterogeneous Ternary Metal Oxide Nanocomposites for Improved Advanced Oxidation Process under Visible Light

Abstract: Here, heterogeneous ternary metal oxide CdO:TiO 2 :ZnO (coded as CTZ0, CTZ1, CTZ2, CTZ3, CTZ4) nanocomposites are synthesized by a sol-gel precipitation method for the advanced oxidation process (AOP) under visible light. The structure, texture, and surface morphology of heterogeneous nanocomposites are identified by X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and field emission scanning electron microscopy, respectively, while the optical property is investigated by UV-vis spectrophot… Show more

“…The diffraction patterns of pure ZnO correspond to (100), (002), (101), (102), (110), (103), (200), (112), (201), (004), and (202) crystal planes and they are fully matched with standard JCPDS card no. 01-079-0208 [ 32 ], and a typical wurtzite hexagonal phase is identified. After the use of psyllium husk, ZnO maintains the crystallographic phase of the wurtzite structure and a slight shift in two theta angle such as 31.5°, 34.2°, and 35.8° along the (100), (002), and (101) planes, respectively, is noticed, as shown in Figure 1 b.…”

“…Frequently, fire detection apparatus is integrated with other building systems to facilitate firefighting, eliminate false alarms, and accelerate building evacuation. As a result of developments in fire detection technologies, property and live losses attributable to fire have decreased substantially [6], [7]. Based on data from the National Fire Protection Association, there was a 45.3% reduction in serious house fires in the United States over a span of twenty-one years, from 723,500 in 1977 to 395,500.00 in 1997.…”

“…3 The AOP method is considered to be the suitable one because it is cheap, extremely stable and environmental friendly. 4 Moreover, AOP can also convert organic toxins into harmless inorganic compounds free of releasing any kind of secondary pollutants.…”
