Heterocarpy in Salvia roemeriana (Lamiaceae)

Abstract: Although Salvia roemeriana has long been known to produce both chasmogamous and cleistogamous flowers, the mericarps resulting from those flowers have received little attention. We germinated seeds from chasmogamous and cleistogamous flowers, recorded germination times, and fit time‐to‐germination, three‐parameter log‐logistic regressions to analyze differences in germination progress.
