Abstract: Recent developments have changed the techniques and indications for different methods of temporary cardiac pacing. Temporary transvenous pacing involves endocardial right ventricular stimulation by a bipolar electrode, introduced directly via a vein, or through a "paceport" pulmonary artery catheter.
