“…So it is deservedly essential for primary Si to improve the morphology, decrease the size and uniformize the distribution. Recently the microstructure of hypereutectic Al-Si alloys can be refined by refiner addition [6][7][8][9][10][11], melt vibration [12][13][14][15], pulse treatment [16], etc., among which phosphorus-containing refiner addition is widely applied in practice. Among all phosphorus-containing refiners, the Al-P master alloy developed these years is able to overcome the shortcomings of other phosphorus-containing refiners (Cu-P master alloy or phosphate salt) such as environmental pollution and instable refinement efficiency, etc., and now has obtained a good application [11].…”

“…Many interesting findings have been reported from those studies [1~4] . For examples, Wang et al [2,3] have studied the heredity of Al casting by heredity parameter I ( where I=g n /g 0 , g n represents the crystal granularity of remelted Al casting n times, and g 0 represents the crystal granularity of original samples). The results showed that the heredity parameter I decreased obviously along with the addition times of casting remelting, and this phenomena also reflected the relativity of clusters stability, namely the revolution, synthesis and cleavage reactions.…”

“…Fortunately, the outstanding structure heredity of the EP-modified liquid aluminum has been reported recently [7,8] . It indicated that for the EP-modified aluminum casting, its liquid structure after once remelting could roughly substitute for that in the EP-modified duration.…”
