Abstract:Diabetes is a lifelong (chronic) disease and is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by a high level of sugar in the blood [Hyperglycemia]. It is caused due to deficiency of insulin (diabetes insipidus) or resistance to insulin (diabetes mellitus). Insulin is secreted by β-cells of the pancreas to control blood sugar level.
