Abstract: Metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH) — previously described as nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) — is a major driver of liver fibrosis in humans, while liver fibrosis is a key determinant of all-cause mortality in liver disease independent of MASH occurrence.
