Hepatocellular Carcinoma and Hepatoid Adenocarcinoma of the Stomach

Abstract: A patient with a hepatocellular carcinoma as well as a hepatoid adenocarcinoma of the stomach is described. Although various morphologic similarities existed between the tumors, immunohistochemical studies demonstrated significant differences. Whereas carcinoembryonic antigen was expressed only by the gastric tumor, α1-antitrypsin and α-antichymotrypsin could be demonstrated exclusively in the liver neoplasm.
