Abstract: Background Hepatitis C, caused by a single stranded RNA virus, has become a global health problem. Infecting millions of individuals in the United States alone, chronic Hepatitis C viral infection can lead to devastating medical problems including cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.
