“…In highly endemic countries, transmission is mainly perinatal, from a carrier mother to her newborn. 23 Hur et al 24 illustrated that the HBsAg positivity was 3.5% (n = 5050) and the anti-HB positivity was 75.3% (n = 109,907) among 145,993 women of childbearing age (20–49) during 2001–2018 in South Korea. The national prevalence of new, chronic HB diagnoses among women of childbearing age in US decreased significantly from .83% in 2011 to .19% in 2017.…”

“…The prevalence of chronic HB among Korean American women of childbearing age in Queens, NY, was estimated to be .49% (3 out of 604) during the period of our study. We assumed that our estimate of .49% was in between .19% 25 and 3.5% 24 because some proportion of childbearing aged Korean American women were born in US and some immigrated from South Korea. This assumption needs to be elucidated in future study.…”

“…In 2019, South Korea (Republic of Korea) achieved HepB3 coverage of 98%, and HepB-birth dose coverage of 92% [6]. In South Korea (Republic of Korea), the prevalence of HBsAg in child-bearing-aged females (20-49 years) is 1.7-3.7% in recent years [65,66]. In pregnant females, the HBsAg prevalence is 3.32% in 2012 [67].…”

“…By conventional de nitions, this result alone does not indicate the development of clinically signi cant active hepatitis but can be considered an alarming indicator that warrants monitoring for the development of active hepatitis. In the context of immunosuppression following HSCT, viral reactivation in pre-existing infections is a common setting in patients with HBsAg-RS, and the risk factors for this are well understood [5][6][7]. However, there seems to be a lack of consensus on the management of the broader spectrum of situations that can lead to HBsAg-RS, including de novo infections and other causes [8][9][10][11][12][13][14].…”
