Henry's Law Constant Measurements of CCl2F2, CHClF2, CH2F2, C2ClF5, C2HF5, CH2FCF3, and CH3CHF2 in Methanol, Ethanol, and 2-Propanol

Abstract: Isothermal vapor-liquid equilibria for 21 fluorocarbon + alcohol systems ranging from 283 to 313 K at atmospheric pressure were measured. The solubility of fluorocarbons into alcohols decreases with increase in temperature and is on the order of a thousand times greater than that of water. The solubility of fluorocarbons derived from ethane in methanol increases as the number of hydrogen atoms in a molecule increases. From the experimental data, Henry's law constants of dichlorodifluoromethane (CCl 2 F 2 , CFC… Show more

“…The VLE for (dimethylether + methanol) was measured from T = (273.15 to 453.15) K [11] and from T = (254 to 352) K [12]. HenryÕs law constants of 1,1-difluoroethane in methanol and 2-propanol were measured by means of a flow method [13]. HenryÕs law constants of 1,1-difluoroethane in methanol were also measured but using headspace gas chromatography [14] at T = (318 and 323) K.…”
