“…Yeniçağa Lake is a freshwater lake located in the Western Black Sea region of Turkey, at 40°47' north latitude and 32°01' east longitude. The lake, which has a surface area of 1800 hectares, is located in a 7 X 2.5 km depression formed as a result of tectonic activities in the early Quaternary period, and it is 976 meters above sea level (Erinç et al, 1962). Since its formation, the surface area of the lake appears to have shrunk to nearly three times its current size (Pekcan, 1996).…”
