Hemorrhoidal artery ligation with Doppler guidance vs digital guidance for grade II-III hemorrhoidal disease treatment

Abstract: Introduction: Hemorrhoidal artery ligation (HAL) with Doppler guidance and suture fixation of hemorrhoidal nodes (RAR) is a popular minimally invasive technique for hemorrhoidal disease (HD) treatment which uses an ultrasound probe to detect hemorrhoidal arteries for further ligation. We hypothesized that ultrasound guidance has no advantages over manual hemorrhoidal arteries detection for HD treatment. The aim is to compare the results of HAL-RAR procedure in patients with stage II-III… Show more

“…Surgical intervention HAL-RAR (hemorrhoidal artery ligation, recto-anal repair) as an effective method of minimally invasive treatment is an alternative to traditional hemorrhoidectomy for the treatment of hemorrhoidal disease (haemorrhoidaldesease -HD) for 2 [10,14] and even 3 and 4 stages of the disease [1,2,3]. In most cases it combines low trauma and a comfortable postoperative period for the patient, as well as ease of implementation for the surgeon [1,4].…”
