“…There was 1 report of hemoptysis that occurred 3 months after the procedure; this case suggested an association between PV stenosis and hemoptysis. 8 Our case also suggested an association between severe stenosis and occlusion of the PVs.…”

“…In the acute phase, hemoptysis occurs soon after ablation due to direct injury of the bronchus by the balloon, and most of these cases improve spontaneously or by stopping the anticoagulant. Hemoptysis in the chronic phase after ablation is caused by stagnation of the pulmonary circulation following PVS and abnormal development of the bronchial artery (15,17). Accordingly, our patient had late hemoptysis, and evidence of PVS was also observed on CT.…”

“…Meanwhile, it might be wise to limit the number of occlusions, or to shorten the occlusion time to a minimal duration (9) . But mechanisms leading to complications have not been studied in details and the underlying mechanism, onset and severity were different in clinical trials as we can see from previous experience (18)(19)(20)(21) . Below are several important studies who reported hemoptysis after cryoballoon ablation of AF.…”
