Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis Secondary to Hodgkin Lymphoma with Isolated Bone Marrow Involvement in a Newly Diagnosed HIV Patient

Abstract: HIV infection is well-known to be associated with the development of Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) with extranodal involvement being exclusive bone marrow involvement is less common. Co-infection by other viruses such as the esptein Baar virus (EBV) increases the incidence of a frequent complication denominated hemophagocytic lymphohistocytosis (HLH). We present the case of a 50-year-old patient with the above clinical spectrum who develops several serious complications during treatment.
