Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis complicating invasive pneumococcal disease: a pediatric case report

Abstract: Background: Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is an infrequent but life-threatening disease due to excessive immune activation. Secondary HLH can be triggered by infections, autoimmune diseases, and malignant diseases.
