“…Despite the numerous explanatory hypotheses, including endocrinological, psychological, metabolic, and anatomical causes assumed to be responsible for HG, none is completely satisfactory [5]. Recent publications emphasized on the possible association between H. pylori infection and HG [7][8][9][10][11]. As a gram-negative flagellated spiral bacterium, H. pylori colonizes stomach and creates the basis of pathogenesis of numerous gastric pathologies, including chronic gastritis, duodenal and gastric ulcers, and some types of gastric cancer and lymphoma [7][8][9][10][11][12][13].…”

Several reports indicating on the causal relationship between H. pylori infection and HG share the suggestion made by Frigo et al, namely, in the early phase of pregnancy, as a result of the increase in steroid hormones, fluid accumulation, and a displacement of intracellular and extracellular volume occur, which in turn leads to change on gastric pH level.…”

“…At present, association between H. pylori and small stature remains to be confirmed. Recently, an association between H. pylori infection and morning sickness [6,7], as well as intrauterine growth restriction, has also been suggested [8].…”
