The paper presents a new application of Hedge Algebra in Type 2 (HAT2) Fuzzy System (FS) for electrocardiographical signal recognition and classification. The HAT2 integrates the capability of fuzzy logic in modeling uncertainties of data and the linguistic variables to describe and manipulate the knowledge in a way closer to the way humans describe facts and rules. An adaptive learning algorithm will be also proposed to train the system’s parameters for better fitting to the data samples. The proposed approach will be tested with the heart beat classification problem with different types of arrhythmias in the ECG signals taken from the Arrhythmia Databases of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Boston's Beth Israel Hospital. The numerical results will be compared with other methods to show the high quality of proposed solution. The proposed solution is also shown being simple with low complexity of computation, which makes it suitable for use in IoT or portable devices for intelligent solutions used in modern healthcare systems.

Bài báo đề xuất một phương pháp xây dựng một hệ lôgic mờ loại hai đại số gia tử (HaT2-FLS). Quy trình này gồm hai pha, trước tiên, thiết kế một hệ lôgic mờ loại 1 (T1-FLS) từ dữ liệu bằng cách kết hợp thuật toán Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) với giải thuật di truyền (GA). Sau đó, HaT2-FLS được xây dựng từ T1-FLS vừa thiết kế. Cơ sở luật trong HaT2-FLS sử dụng cùng số luật, số tập mờ như cơ sở luật trong T1-FLS, điểm khác biệt là ở chỗ mỗi luật trong HaT2-FLS có phần tiền đề và phần kết luận đều là các HaT2FSs. Trong pha hai, các tham số của HaT2FSs được tối ưu bằng GA. Thử nghiệm phương pháp đề nghị với bài toán dự báo thời gian sống của bệnh nhân viêm tủy cho kết quả tin cậy.

Fuzzy C-Means Clustering Algorithm with Multiple Fuzzification Coefficients

Clustering is an unsupervised machine learning technique with many practical applications that has gathered extensive research interest. Aside from deterministic or probabilistic techniques, fuzzy C-means clustering (FCM) is also a common clustering technique. Since the advent of the FCM method, many improvements have been made to increase clustering efficiency. These improvements focus on adjusting the membership representation of elements in the clusters, or on fuzzifying and defuzzifying techniques, as well as the distance function between elements. This study proposes a novel fuzzy clustering algorithm using multiple different fuzzification coefficients depending on the characteristics of each data sample. The proposed fuzzy clustering method has similar calculation steps to FCM with some modifications. The formulas are derived to ensure convergence. The main contribution of this approach is the utilization of multiple fuzzification coefficients as opposed to only one coefficient in the original FCM algorithm. The new algorithm is then evaluated with experiments on several common datasets and the results show that the proposed algorithm is more efficient compared to the original FCM as well as other clustering methods.
