Heavy neutrino searches at future Z-factories

Abstract: We analyze the capacity of future Z-factories to search for heavy neutrinos with their mass from 10 to 85 GeV. The heavy neutrinos N are considered to be produced via the process e + e − → Z → νN and to decay into an electron or muon and two jets. By means of Monte Carlo simulation of such signal events and the Standard Model background events, we obtain the upper bounds on the cross sections σ(e + e − → νN → ν jj) given by the Z-factories with integrated luminosities of 0.1, 1 and 10 ab −1 if no signal events… Show more

“…First, cytotoxicity tests should be performed, in which cells are incubated with a variety of concentrations of samples for a certain range of times and then the viability of cells is measured. [88] As presented in Table 3, MONs and MON-based composite materials all exhibit high cell viability under a certain concentration, suggesting that they possess low cytotoxicity and good biocompatibility. However, despite that, it is worth noting that some reports have testified that MONs could serve as CDT agents and intrinsically exhibited cytotoxicity to tumor cells at a certain doses via a H 2 O 2 /GSH-dependent Fenton-like reaction.…”

“…One can observe that the left halves of the monojet curves rise, which is reasonable because lighter neutrinos are more likely to decay outside of detectors. Despite this, the , DELPHI [45], CMS [21] and ATLAS [22], indirect searches like 0νββ [46], electroweak precision data (EWPD) [48], and meson decays measured by PIENU (π decay) [30,31], T2K (K decay) [27] and Belle (B decay) [32], and expected constraints from future facilities such as dijet method at future Z-factories [53], LNV processes searches at future Higgs factories [75]. The current experimental bounds are shown by solid curves, while the expected future bounds are shown by dashed curves.…”

“…Applying the selection conditions to the simulated signal and background events, we can investigate the ability of future Z-factories to hunt the light heavy neutrinos with masses in the range of 5-15 GeV. Analogous to [53], we consider that the significance s defined by…”

“…[34] -Heavy-ν refers to the existence of a heavy sterile neutrino. [35] -2-Higgs-doublet refers to the model where the Higgs boson exists in two doublets and can have five physical states: two CP-even, neutral Higgs bosons h and H (H is heavier than h), the CP-odd pseudoscalar A and two charged Higgs bosons H ± . [36] -Compositeness refers to the model where the Higgs boson is taken to be of finite size and represents a Nambu-Goldstone field.…”
