Abstract: Deepwater steel lazy wave risers (SLWR) subject to vessel motion will be exposed to time-varying oscillatory flow, vortices could be generated and the cyclic vortex shedding force causes the structure vibrate, such fluid-structure interaction is called vortex-induced vibrations (VIV).
