“…In the work on falling film of aqueous electrolyte, most of researchers tried to enhance the heat transfer of falling film evaporation by adding different surfactants to create Marangoni effect [3][4][5] or changing the surface structure of falling film wall [6,7] . Whereas the work on the Marangoni effect for the aqueous electrolyte itself in heat and mass transfer processes is scarcely reported.…”

“…At present, the information on the flow characteristics of falling film of aqueous electrolyte is still inadequate, causing the imprecision on the design and operation of falling film apparatus. Therefore, for enhancing the heat and mass transfers of falling film and optimising the design and operation of falling film apparatus, it is of practical significance to specifically understand the flow characteristics of cracked falling film of aqueous electrolyte and their influences on the heat and mass transfers of the film.In the work on falling film of aqueous electrolyte, most of researchers tried to enhance the heat transfer of falling film evaporation by adding different surfactants to create Marangoni effect [3][4][5] or changing the surface structure of falling film wall [6,7] . “…Lin and Harris [22] combined different mass fraction of methyl alcohol with water to carry out an experiment and proposed that heat flux of mixed working medium was between the value of water and that of pure methyl alcohol. Cheng et al [23] measured the surface tension of water adding 1-Octanol or 2-ethyl-hexanol with different concentrations, and the conclusion was that there was a heat transfer enhancement in spray cooling process due to Marangoni convection. Qiao and Chandra [24] used 100 ppm of sodium dodecyl sulfate solution as cooling medium and found that surface temperature can be reduced by using this additive.…”

“…Although glycol solutions can be used for dehumidification, sterilization, and absorption of VOCs, the related researches are limited in the literature. As shown in Table 1, salt (9,10) and glycol (5,11) solutions were usually used to remove moisture from air. Except for Kang and Kashiwagi (12), ammonia solution was usually used to absorb carbon dioxide (13~16).…”
