Heat Transfer Characteristics of High Speed and Heavy Load Hydrostatic Bearing

Abstract: This paper investigates the heat transfer characteristics of hydrostatic bearing in a 5m vertical lathe based on fluid-solid-heat coupling analysis. The relationship among convective heat transfer coefficient of hydrostatic bearing friction pairs, rotational speed and load is deduced. The influence of rotational speed, heavy load and convection mode on heat dissipation performance of friction pairs in a hydrostatic bearing is investigated by numerical simulation and experimental test. It is found that the temp… Show more

“…Figure 3 shows the stress and temperature comparison results of the cylindrical table. From figure 3 can see that the pressure and temperature calculated by the model in this paper are not much different from the results in the literature [32], indicating that the model can be used for subsequent simulation.…”

“…Before the full factorial experiment simulation, it is necessary to verify the calculation model in this paper. The average stress and maximum temperature of the gap oil film of the hydrostatic thrust bearing in this paper are compared with the literature [32]. The structural parameters of the oil chamber are the same as those in the above literature.…”

“…They reported higher consistency between the simulation and experimental results than when the viscosity is assumed constant. Yu et al [180] established a temperature rise equation based on heat transfer paths, which well replicated the experimental results. Their method is valuable for identifying heat points and investigating the heat transfer of large-scale hydrostatic bearings.…”

“…Yu XD established a three-dimensional simulation model of oil film and friction pair of hydrostatic thrust bearing under high-speed and heavy-load conditions and analyzed the oil film pressure field, temperature field, deformation field of bearing friction pair, and oil film thickness field. The results show that the load causes the turntable and base to undergo inward elastic deformation, and the temperature causes the turntable and base to undergo outward thermal deformation [25][26][27][28].…”
