Abstract:The hydration of cementitious materials is an exothermic process which results in significant temperature increases in large masses of these materials. The thermal environment under these conditions is nearly adiabatic. The heat of hydration of cementitious aluminosilicate blend materials incorporating fly ash and granulated blast-furnace slag was calculated from the adiabatic temperature rise. Additional reaction of siliceous fly ash with alkaline solutions results in the formation of zeolitic reaction produc… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
