Heat generation of core-shell particles composed of biodegradable polymer and iron oxide

Abstract: A suspension of coreshell particles composed of a biodegradable polymer core and iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) exhibits higher heat generation under an alternating magnetic field compared with a suspension of IONPs at the same IONP concentration. The improvement of the heat generation will be attributed to the change of the strength of dipolar interactions between adjacent IONPs. The IONPs in the coreshell particles were relatively isolated, in contrast with that in IONP suspension before the formation of… Show more

“…152 Thus, PHA particles can serve as drug vectors that can release drugs only inside the body since drug release from such drug-loaded PHA particles cannot occur without the PHA decomposition. 153 The slow release of anticancer drugs is a significant area of drug delivery. Human PhaP peptide and polypeptide or protein ligands fused to PhaP were advanced.…”

“…For instance, the molecular weight of PHA did not vary at 37 °C in a pH 7.4 phosphate buffer for over 84 days . “…Besides that, for clinical use, they should be covered with some biocompatible material, which helps in its colloidal stability without harming its magnetic properties. For this, polymeric coatings, such as poly‐3‐hydroxybutyrate and polylactic acid, have been used. Other polymers, like poly (butylene succinate), can also be exploited for this application.…”
