Heat Capacity and Standard Thermodynamic Functions of Bis(η6-mesitylene)vanadium Fulleride [(η6-sim-Me3H3C6)2V]•+[C60]•–over the Range fromT= (0 to 345) K

Abstract: Low-temperature heat capacities of the crystalline bis(η 6 -mesitylene)vanadium fulleride [(η 6 -sim-Me]•À have been measured by a precision adiabatic vacuum calorimeter over the temperature range from T = (7 and 345) K for the first time. The experimental results have been used to calculate the standard (P°= 0.1 MPa) thermodynamic functions: molar heat capacities C p,m o , enthalpy H o (T) À H o (0), entropy S o (T), and Gibbs energy G o•À over the range from T = (0 to 345) K. The low-temperature (T < 50 K) d… Show more

“…[282] Examples of transition metal doped fullerides are less abundant, and are summarised in Table 7. Among the transition metals fulleride compounds most common are smaller first row transition metals derivatives, with various examples of Cr compounds [285][286][287][288][289][290][291][292][293][294][295] as well as Ti, [283] V, [284] Mn, [296] Ni, [296,297] Fe [296,297] and Cu. [297] A few examples of larger second row transition metals such as Mo, [295,298] Pd, [299] Ag [297] and Cd [296], Pt [299][300][301] and Au [302] of the third row have also been reported.…”

“…The calorimeter design and the operation procedure were described earlier [14,15]. The calorimeter was tested by measuring the heat capacity of special-purity copper (OSCH) and reference samples of synthetic corundum and K-2 benzoic acid.…”
