Abstract:A leishmaniose é uma zoonose parasitária frequentemente fatal, causada pelo protozoário Leishmania spp., mundialmente distribuída. A principal forma de transmissão da enfermidade se dá através do flebotomíneo Lutzomyia spp., porém pode haver outras formas de transmissão, como por transfusão sanguínea.
