Heart

Abstract: Cardiac tumours are rare. In children, the most common are rhabdomyoma and cardiac fibroma, non‐neoplastic growths that are associated with extracardiac malformations. True neoplasms occur primarily in adults. Most are benign (cardiac myxoma), but malignant heart tumours (cardiac sarcomas) may also occur, and clinically mimic myxoma. Any cardiac tumour, whether biologically malignant or truly neoplastic may cause morbidity or mortality by obstructing blood flow or compressing vital structures.
